In Loving Memory of Wilhelmine "Bunnie" Siemion
JACKSONVILLE - Bunnie passed away peacefully at home Friday, December 6, 2024 at the age of 89. She was born on April 20, 1935 in Queens, NY to William and Anita Henrichs. A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Infant of Prague Catholic Church in Jacksonville, NC.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Bunnie served as a military (USMC) spouse, who was the heart and soul of her family. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Daniel, whose memory she cherished dearly. Together, they shared 63 beautiful years of marriage, filled with love, laughter, and mutual respect. Her beloved sons, Matthew and Peter, also preceded her in death.
Bunnie is survived by her children, Daniel Siemion II, Ed (Lynn) Siemion, Lynn (Bill) Slone, Sandy Siemion and her grandchildren, Heather (Derek) Kelm, Dana (Chris) Jimenez, David (Kendra) Slone, Jessica (Jeric) Poston, Kelly (Jack) Coñate, Chloe (Brandon) Lundquist, Trey (Lindsey) Siemion, Matthew Siemion, Katie (Zak) Huberty, Bert (Brooke) Siemion, Jacob (Taylor) Siemion, Samantha Siemion, and Payton Siemion, and 13 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews whom brought immense joy to her life. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, kindness, and unwavering strength. Her warm smile and gentle demeanor touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Bunnie's interests were attending mass at Infant of Prague, participating in Adoration for many years, working in her yard, going out to lunch or dinner with friends, crocheting and knitting blankets for her grandchildren and for Navy Relief. She enjoyed league bowling for many years, bowling on Thanksgiving with her children and grandchildren, and traveling the country visiting different wineries along the way.
Bunnie supported many charitable organizations. Among her favorites were Meals on Wheels, Tunnels2Towers, Boys Town, Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, and Special Olympics.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to one of Bunnie's favorite charities.
Bunnie will be remembered for her remarkable spirit, love, and the indelible mark she left on the hearts of her family and friends. She will be dearly missed but forever cherished in our hearts.
