JACKSONVILLE - William Douglas "Doug" Barber 77, was born on May 13, 1948, in Pine Level, NC and died on July 31, 2025, at his residence in Jacksonville.  A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00AM on Tuesday August 5, at Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with Rev. Charles McKinney officiating.  Burial will follow at Onslow Memorial Park in Jacksonville located on Richlands Hwy.

"Doug" will be long remembered by family and friends as a man who was very family focused.  He was a great provider.  Doug loved his wife and was a very dedicated husband during her last months and days here on earth.  Doug was a loving and compassionate father, husband, brother and grandfather. Doug was a loving brother-in-law to: Tammy Stoudt, Vickie Snead, Georgette Turner and families.

"Doug" was preceded in death by his wife; Joan Francene Barber, a brother; Joseph Marion Barber and parents; William Joseph and Gladys Mae Radford Barber.

"Doug" was survived by one son; Kevin Lee Barber of Wilmington NC; brother, Ronald Wayne Barber of Swansboro, one sister; Esther Mae Kinsey and her husband Jackie of Jacksonville, brothers; Bryan Keith and wife Mary Ann Barber of Emerald Isle, Kenneth Ryan and wife Sheila Barber of Jacksonville; Two grandchildren, Laine and Reese Barber.

A visitation will be held 10:00-11:00AM on Tuesday at Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville.
