In Loving Memory of William and Evelyn Hobbs

Evelyn Hobbs (January 10, 1932 – May 7, 2025)

William Hobbs (April 29, 1933 – May 13, 2025)

With heavy hearts and profound love, the family announces the passing of the beloved William and Evelyn Hobbs. Devoted lifelong partners, cherished parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents, they now rest together in eternal peace.

A joint visitation will be held on Saturday, May 17 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Jones Funeral Home in Richlands, North Carolina.

Evelyn Hobbs departed this life peacefully on May 7, 2025. Just six days later, on May 13, 2025, William Hobbs followed her, a tender reflection of the unbreakable bond they shared for over 70 beautiful years. Their love story was one marked by unwavering commitment, shared dreams, deep devotion, and steadfast faith. Together they created a home grounded in love, laughter, and strong family values, a haven where joy and faith flourished.

Evelyn was born to the late Walter and Lizzie Hoffman. She was a woman of profound grace, humility, and inner strength. Her nurturing spirit radiated through her every interaction. She gave generously of her time, her heart, and her wisdom. Her presence brought comfort and her kindness left an indelible mark on the lives of many. Evelyn was the heart of our family and the gentle light that guided us all.

William was born to the late George T. Hobbs and Kathleen Foy. He was a man of great wisdom and integrity. As a father, husband, and spiritual leader, he led by example—teaching us through his words and, more importantly, through his actions. He embodied the virtues of honesty, resilience, loyalty, and quiet faith. His strength was the foundation on which our family stood.

Together, William and Evelyn lovingly raised and are survived by six children: Rodney (Joni), Keith (Patricia), Irma Bishop (the late Joey Bishop), Mike, Alex, and Thomas (Angela).

Each of us carries a piece of their legacy—shaped by their guidance, love, and unwavering support. They taught us not only how to live, but how to love deeply, forgive sincerely, and endure with grace and purpose. Their influence extended well beyond the walls of their home. Friends, neighbors, and even strangers were touched by their faith, generosity, and compassion. Their lives were examples of service, humility, and a quiet strength that uplifted everyone fortunate enough to know them.

Although we are heartbroken by their passing, we are comforted by the belief that they are now reunited—joined once more in perfect peace. Their love story continues beyond this life, a testament to a bond that even death could not break. We will honor their memory by embodying the values they instilled in us and by carrying forward the light of their love and the wisdom they so freely gave.

A joint visitation will be held on Saturday, May 17 at 1 pm at Jones Funeral Home in Richlands, North Carolina.
