Swansboro- Zennie Hubert Watson, Jr., 82, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Carteret Healthcare in Morehead City with his family by his side. He was born March 26, 1944, in Onslow County, NC a son of the late Zennie Hubert Watson, Sr. and Dorothy Littleton Watson.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, September 17, 2026 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home-Swansboro. Burial will follow at the Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Hubert was a lover of nature and loved to spend time with his family and friends. An amazing man who loved without conditions, and gave without limits. He lived as an example and inspiration of love, service, and dedication for all who knew him.

He is survived by nieces: Sandra Oulette of OK, Lori Peranteaux (Brian) of CO, Stephanie Preheim (Chet) of Hubert, Shawn Burroughs of OK, and Jennifer Mann (Dean) of Jacksonville; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Cil Burroughs and her husband, David; brother, Johnny Watson; and nephew, Brian Oulette and niece, Crystal Watson.
