Obituary

Swansboro- April Dawn Abney Marsh, 44, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.  She was born June 18, 1976 in Cherry Point, NC a daughter to Gerald Abney, Sr. and Mary Smith Abney.

A funeral service will be held Friday, February 19, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home-Swansboro with Rev. Steve Wakefield officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

April loved the beach and the water and was happiest when she was surrounded by family and friends.

She is survived by husband, Wesley Marsh of the home; daughter, Savannah Grace Abney (Dylan) of Cape Carteret; mother, Mary Smith Abney of Cape Carteret; stepchildren, Madeline Marie Marsh of Valdosta, GA and Lcpl Andrew Chandler Marsh of Camp Pendleton, CA; sister, Kimberly Elizabeth Abney (Danny) of Emerald Isle; step-father, Tommy Dowdy of Cape Carteret; and special fur babies, Saber, Boopy, Smug, and Ellie.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Abney, Sr. and half-brother Gerald Abney, Jr.
