HOLLY RIDGE, NC - Barry Lane Sink, 74, of Holly Ridge, met Jesus face to face on Saturday, January 15, 2022. A service to celebrate Barry's life will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Liberty Baptist Church, 834 Wilmington Highway in Holly Ridge. Burial will follow at the Ottaway Family Cemetery at Liberty Baptist Church.
Mr. Sink was born in Davidson County to the late Lawrence and Perry Miller Sink. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Lula Sink Brewer, Nancy Elizabeth Sink, Janice Jean Forrest; and brothers, Charles "Bud" Sink, Jerry Miller Sink, and Lawrence "Jim" Sink.
Barry served in the United States Marine Corp from 1966 to 1986 attaining the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. For many years Barry was a contractor operating as Sink and Woolard Construction, who built and remodeled houses throughout the Holly Ridge area. Afterwards, he worked for Homeland Security until his retirement. He loved babies, cooking for his friends, baking cakes for birthdays, and spending every possible moment with his grandkids. He delighted in texting each of them goodnight. He will be remembered as a faithful Christian, loving husband, father, and Papaw.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sheila Sink; his son, Keith Sink and his wife, Tracey; grandchildren, Lane, Katelyn (James), Kelsey, and Alicia; sister, Libby Gay Leonard and brother, Bobby Wayne Sink as well as in-laws, Connie and Dennis Price, Barry and Wendy Ottaway, and Sharlene Jones.
The family will greet friends Saturday afternoon, prior to the service, from 1:30 until 2:15 PM at the church.
