HOLLY RIDGE - Bobby “Trouble” Prince, 71, of Holly Ridge, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his beloved wife and family on Monday, May 31, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel with Rev. Dwayne Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Onslow Memorial Park.
Bobby was born September 19, 1949 to Homer John and Cora Mae Shepard Prince in Perry, GA. He grew up in the Harris Creek area of Jacksonville, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents Homer John Prince and Cora Mae Shepard Prince. Also, by his sister Sandra Kay Prince and his brother Homer John Prince Jr.
He has been a loving and dedicated husband to Shirley Prince for 52 years. Together they raised two daughters, Tammy Reneé and Christina Hope.
Bobby and his wife ran a successful flooring business for over 30 years. He was the founder of Custom Floors by Prince in Sneads Ferry.
He was a member and Deacon at North Topsail Shores Baptist Church. He loved his family and friends and always had a smile to share. He would always find something to joke about and bring a smile to your face especially pink elephants crossing the road. He traveled with his beloved brother Homer to Alaska twice where they made forever memories. His love and kindness has always been the foundation of the family and will continue to be.
He leaves behind his wife, Shirley Prince; and two daughters, Tammy Reneé Denton (Randy) and Christina Hope Burke (Robert); five grandchildren, Brian Denton, Andrew Wrenn, Katie Denton, Christian Watkins and Lyndsey Watkins; four great-grandchildren, Kiley Denton, Ryan Denton, Jaxton Wrenn and Emerie Wrenn.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 – 8 PM at the funeral home.
ln lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in his memory to North Topsail Shores Baptist Church.
