Brooke Lanien VanHorn

Obituary

Jacksonville, NC -- Brooke Lanien VanHorn, 30, passed away Friday, January 8, 2021.

She was born October 19, 1990 in Onslow County to MGySgt. David W. VanHorn, USMC Ret.

and Michele Smith VanHorn.  Brooke was a talented, licensed cosmetologist with a natural love for her

work.  She leaves behind (immediate family) her parents, brother, Aaron Adcock and wife, Angel, and

her maternal grandparents, Dorris R. Potter and Tom Potter, Sr (step grandfather).  She also leaves

behind several Aunts, Uncles, her niece, nephews and cousins who loved her so much.  She is preceded

in death by her paternal grandparents, David and Dorothy VanHorn and her maternal grandfather,

MSgt. William L. Smith, USMC ret.

Brooke had a love for the outdoors and nature.  She enjoyed playing softball, riding motorcycles, the

Beach and spending time with family and friends.  She had a love for art and loved to draw, paint,

and write and loved poetry and journaling. 

She always had a big smile on her face and had a zest for life.  She will be truly missed by all.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Jones Funeral
