Edwin Jackson "Jack" Renegar died Monday, 19 July, 2021.  Jack spent his life in the service of his country, his family, and his friends.  He will always be known for his unparalleled selflessness.  Jack was born 17 November, 1934 in Statesville, NC.  After completing high school, Jack joined the United States Marine Corps and served proudly for over 23 years.  In 1955, Jack met Viola "Vi" Gallimore, his one true love.  Jack and Vi were married in 1955 and remained beside each other for more than 67 years.  During his time in the Marine Corps, Jack and Vi managed to not only serve with distinction but to also have four children Dale Land (Steve), Donna Meier (Bill), Terri Hardesty (Dan), and Eddie Renegar (Kimberly).  The four children gave Jack and Vi 10 grandkids. The grandkids have given Jack and Vi 13 great-grandkids. Throughout their marriage, Jack and Vi met many people who became members of their "adopted" family.  Jack lived with no regrets. He left this world a better place, and everyone he encountered better off for having known him.

There will be a visitation Thursday, 22 July, 2021, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville, NC.  Jack will be laid to rest on Friday, 23 July, 2021.  Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Living Hope Community Church.  The internment will be at Coastal Carolina State Veteran's Cemetery immediately following the service.  Flowers are appreciated. However,  in lieu of flowers donations to The Semper Fi Fund in Jack's name are also appreciated.
