Jacksonville- Esley Ray Jarman, loving husband, father, brother and grandfather, passed away at home at the age of 83.
He was born and raised in Onslow County and graduated from Dixon High School. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, traveling and spending time with his family. In his youth, he worked on the farm and later worked at the A&P until he transferred to the commissary at Camp Lejeune and retired from environmental control in 1993. He also served with the Haws Run Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad.
Esley was preceded in death by his parents, Esley Melvin and Martha Ellen Jarman and sister, Marilyn Jarman Yopp.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Alice Rochelle Jarman; two sons, Timothy Jarman and Alexander Jarman; two grandchildren, Tiffany Jansen and Timothy Jarman; one great-grandchild, Chloe Jansen; sisters and brothers, Hazel Cavanaugh, Frances Ramsey, Joseph Jarman, Doris Del Castilho and Calvin Jarman; along with many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on October 8, 2021 at 12:00 PM at Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville, NC. Entombment will follow at Onslow Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dawson Community Church.
