Myrtle Frances Humphrey, age 77, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 31, 2018, while at home with family and friends by her side.
Frances was born July 31, 1941 in Chinquapin, NC to Zollie Gaston and Edna Pierce Maready. She married William Troy Humphrey on January 23, 1959 who she cherished and loved all of her days. They raised 3 children and took on the responsibility to host foreign exchange students as well. She was the co-owner of W. T. Humphrey, Inc. and also ventured out into the restaurant business where she was known for her superior home style cooking at North Ridge Restaurant, now known as Helen’s Kitchen. Some of her favorite memories were made around the dinner table with plenty of food, family, and friends. You might have seen her at one of her favorite spots, the local Cracker Barrel, Logan’s or Belks. She cherished all those who waited on her and loved being able to see their familiar faces. She was also a member of White Oak Community Church where she loved to serve and worship the Lord. She had a passion for shopping, a heart for giving and was truly stunning from the inside out. Frances lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures and had a special gift for connecting with people in a meaningful way. She lived for her family and always had a personal way of showing how much she loved them. Nannie was loved beyond words and she will always have her own special place in our hearts for the rest of our days. Frances will be greatly missed by all but now she is finally rejoicing in Heaven with the Lord and all her family and friends who had gone on before her.
