Johnny Ray Cooke, 64, Born September 8, 1956 peacefully went to be with his Lord on September 5th 2021
Johnny was born in Laurinburg, NC and raised in Jacksonville Fl. He joined the USMC in 1977 and was stationed at MCAS in Jacksonville NC and made Jacksonville his home for the rest of his life. Johnny was the epitome of a family man. Everyone that knew him knew him as a laid back and loving man, but don’t mess with his family and especially his children, Jonathan and Rebekah, which were his heart. We are sure that heaven is rejoicing the arrival of Johnny but we will miss him terribly. Johnny loved the Lord with all his heart and many times could be found at the pawn shop inviting people to church as well as witnessing for his Lord.
Johnny is preceded in death by his mother Mary Jean Driggers, his brother Jackie Lee Cooke, his brother-in-law Eddie lamb and his nephew Alton Bruce Cooke III.
He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 40 years, Denise; his son, Jonathan Alexander Cooke and wife Amber; his daughter, Rebekah Alexandria Cooke and her partner and stepson Jeremy and Avery all of Jacksonville NC; his favorite sister, Barbara Lamb of Clinton, GA; his dad, Alton Bruce Cooke; brother, Alton Bruce Cooke Jr. and wife Jenny of Jacksonville Fl; and many nieces’, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins that he loved very much. He is also survived by his in-laws Randolph and Laverne Thomas and Charles and Randy Thomas who he loved dearly; and Duke and many of his furry friends.
