Jacksonville – Josephine Mary Berretta Salle, 93, died at home on Saturday January 21, 2023.
Josephine’s funeral mass will be 1:00 PM on Friday January 27, 2023 at Infant of Prague Catholic Church in Jacksonville, NC.
Josephine was born in Queens, NY. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Pre Med from Adelphi University. She had a long career working as a microbiologist in the medical field. When she moved to Jacksonville NC, she volunteered at the Onslow Memorial Hospital as a dedicated “Pink Lady” until she was 90.
Josephine was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Bill Salle; and her parents, Joseph and Mary Berretta.
Josephine is survived by daughter, Marissa Souza; son. Bill Salle; and grandchildren, Mark and Arianna.
