JACKSONVILLE - Kenneth Eugene Griffin, 85, of Jacksonville, passed away on January 8, 2022 after complications from Parkinson’s Disease.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel. The family will receive friends from 12 – 1 PM, one hour prior to the service. Burial, with military honors, will follow at the Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
Mr. Griffin was born on January 24, 1936 in Kingsport, TN to Elijah and Lakie Griffin. He joined the USMC at the age of 17 and retired as a MGySgt after 30 years of service. After retirement from the USMC, Kenneth worked for the Carpet House for 20 years in planning and estimation.
He married the love of his life, Barbara, on March 10, 1958 in Kingsport, TN. They raised three children Sharon, Tony, and Mark.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elijah Bodine and Lakie Bell Griffin; his wife, Barbara Ann Griffin; son, Mark Griffin; and grandson, Michael Aragona.
Survivors include his daughter, Sharon Aragona and her husband, Benjamin of Jacksonville; son, Tony Griffin and wife, Julie of Edwardsville, IL; grandchildren, Kenneth, Benjamin, Whitney, Jordan, Luke, Douglas, and Paul; and great grandchildren Hailey, Kenley, Billy, Callie, Anna Carter, Bennett, Emma, Gunner, Kaylee, Gracie, and Lexi; as well as a great grandchild, Sincere.
