Swansboro- Frank Leon Aurilio, Jr., 84, met his savior Jesus Christ face-to-face on November 15, 2021. He passed away at Onslow Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Bridgeport, CT on April 7, 1937, he was the son of the late Frank Leon Aurilio, Sr. and Mildred Davis. He was precede in death by his sister Joan Aurilio Merritt.
Frank married Alice Cobb on August 9, 1974, in Upper Marlboro, MD. She lovingly referred to him as “my boy!”
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 12:00 PM at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, NC with Military Honors. Frank is survived by his wife Alice Cobb Aurilio of the home; sisters Nancy Aurilio White (Fred) and Edith Aurilio Lacey both of CT; sister-in-law Joan Hileman of Charlotte, NC; nephews Douglas Hileman (Christie) of Charlotte, NC and Fred White (Michelle) of CT; niece Jd Hileman of Charlotte, NC; and his fur baby Lucy.
Frank faithfully served his country in the USMC from 1954-1984. He served in the aviation field as a loadmaster and radio/radar operator. He retired at the rank of Master Gunnery Sergeant (E-9).
Following his military retirement, Frank was a charter boat captain (Alice Ann), a business owner (Chips Off the Old Block) and a recreational vehicle salesman (Blue Border Travel Trailers). Frank and Alice enjoyed traveling across the US and Canada in their 5th wheels and did so for 35 wonderful years.
