Retha Johnson Peele Mobley of Jacksonville, NC received perfect healing by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ peacefully in her sleep, at her home on Wednesday April 27, 2022.
Retha was born on December 4, 1940, in Jacksonville, NC daughter of Henry Quincy Johnson and Ruby White Johnson. After losing her mother at a very young age she was raised by stepparents Herbert Ivey White and Sarah Kathleen Griffin-White. Retha was a stay-at-home mom most of her life raising her children, after which she pursued and became a nursing assistant and retired from Onslow County. Retha lived her entire life in the Jacksonville area. Retha enjoyed riding her horse Trigger, gardening, and enjoyed the fruits of her labor.
Left to cherish Retha's memory are her husband William Henry Mobley, her daughters Wanda Peele Humphrey, Donna Peele Banks husband (Dennis Lee Banks), son Charles Ray Peele (Carroll Raynor). Grandchildren Denise Banks Shearin, Evan Edward Bryan, Charles Ray Peele II, Madeline Peele Smith (Lane Tyler Smith) and Krysta Ruby Peele and Kayla Kinsey Humphrey. Great grandchildren Dustin Shearin, Skyler Jarman, Laylah Pate and Maleeah Pate and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be held at Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville on Monday May 2 from 6-8pm. The funeral service will be held at Christian Tabernacle located at 221 S Marine Blvd., Jacksonville on May 3 at 2pm. Pastor Murray O’Donnell will be officiating the service along with Pastor Phillip Shepard. The burial will follow immediately to Onslow Memorial Park. The family will receive family and friends immediately after the service and other times at Retha's home. Pallbearers will include Sammie Peele, James Peele, Evan Edward Bryan, Charles Ray Peele II, Dustin Shearin and Skyler Jarman.
