Our Daddy, Rev. James Aaron Hansley, 95, went home to Heaven on April 5, 2021. He was a Navy veteran, retired auto mechanic at Marine Chevrolet, and the former pastor of the Sneads Ferry Pentecostal Holiness and Harris Creek Holiness Churches. He enjoyed a full life surrounded by his family, ministry, fishing, and a passion to travel. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 33 years and the mother of his three daughters, Edna Pierce Hansley; his parents, David Horton Hansley, and wife, Sallie Jenkins Hansley; and his siblings, Horton Lee, Lottie, Kathleen, Elizabeth and Merinda. Daddy was blessed with a loving and blended family. He is survived by his present wife of 40 years, Margaret (Libby) Radford Hansley; his three daughters, their spouses, children, and grandchildren: Joyce H. Marshburn (Steve Sr.) and her children Steve Jr. (Marla) and Stacey M. Thompson; Janice H. Marshburn (Donald Gary); and Judy H. Smith (Gattis Jr.) and daughter, Victoria R. Smith; his great grandchildren: Ben and Sydney Marshburn, and Melissa Devor (Tyler); along with many nieces, nephews, and Margaret’s children, Robert, Bobby, and Joyce Estelle, their children, grandchildren, and family. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on April 7, 2021 at Jones Funeral Home, 303 Chaney Avenue, Jacksonville, followed by funeral services at 12 noon, April 8, 2021 at Jones Funeral Home, and grave side service at Onslow Memorial Park, 3280 Richlands Highway, Jacksonville. The family wishes to thank Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Daddy’s many family members, friends, and acquaintances for their expressions of love, care, and compassion.
