Obituary

JACKSONVILLE  -  Shawn Lee Rhodes Hux, of Jacksonville, passed away suddenly Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Onslow Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 9 at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel. The family will receive visitors immediately before the service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.

Shawn was preceded in death by her grandparents, Rexford and Halcie Haynes of Waynesboro, VA; grandparents, Johnie and Dolly Rhodes(Maudell)of Jacksonville; grandfather, Arthur Batzel of Pennsylvania; cousin, Johnny Pruitt, of Jacksonville; cousin, Kevin Cromer of Pennsylvania, Ray Rhodes of NC, Lucy Morton of NC; uncle, Leon Rhodes (Pumpkin) of NC, Mary Cook of NC; uncle, Billy Haynes of VA; and cousin, Carol Faye Haynes of VA.

Shawn is survived by her loving parents, June and Dan Batzel of Florida; father, Jimmy Rhodes of Jacksonville; grandmother, Dorothy Batzel (102 years old) of Pennsylvania; son, Travis Rhodes (Starr) of TN; daughter, Brittni Bradley (Brandy)of TN; fiancée, Ricky Lunsford of VA; sister, Rhonda Rhodes of NC; brother, Lee Rhodes (Robyn) of VA; sister, Channon Rickard-Ryan(Chris) of FL; brother, Tony Rhodes (Thuy) of Maryland; nephews, Michael, Eric, Nick , Jordan; great-nephew, Caleb; nieces, Ashly (Chris), Taylor, Amber (Eric), Kayla, Ashley, Stella and Harper; great-niece, Laila; grandchildren, Trinity, Quintin , Ava Grace, Seth, Diana, Izzy, Leighton and Victor;  and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
