March 1, 2021 5:20 PMStew was a great Marine. It was a true pleasure having him work for me in our maintenance department. You couldn’t ask for a more professional maintenance Marine. He was always working on something helping others. He was a key member of HMX-1 while I was there. He kept me out of trouble. May God bless Bonnie and her entire family with his peace and comfort during this time of bereavement! Know that Stew is in a better place without pain. And now, standing at attention, saluting, stating, “Another Marine reporting in sir” and taking his place guarding heavens gates. I salute you Stu Gold, rest in peace.

February 28, 2021 3:09 AMI am very sorry to hear of his passing. Stew was a national treasure. His pursuit of readiness, his leadership of the people who make readiness, his in-depth knowledge, and willingness and ability to share that knowledge; these are part of his legacy. Just as are those over the years he mentored and guided and taught. He made us better.
I personally learned from him and sought his guidance when a TMS lead and a young squadron CO, and will not forget. He is a true professional, Marine, father, husband - and will be missed by many.
My deepest condolences go to his family, along with prayers for comfort and healing.
Semper Fidelis Stewart Gold.
