Obituary

WINNABOW  -  Adeline Olive Williams Harrelson (affectionately known as "Addie"), daughter of the late Daniel and Carrie Williams, was born on September 21, 1943, in Knox, IN.  On the morning of September 19, 2024, God dispatched an angel and welcomed Addie into eternal rest at her family's home in Winnabow, North Carolina.   Addie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Harrelson; her son, William "Billy" Harrelson; and her sister, Barbara Withers.

Graveside funeral services will be on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, in Holly Ridge. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the graveside.

Addie spent the first 21 years of her life in Knox, IN, where she met the love of her life, Henry.  She was united in Holy Matrimony to Henry in Wilmington, NC and shared a union blessed with two children.  Addie supported Henry in his work ventures for several years traveling as far as Utah and they later settled down in Holly Ridge, NC.

Addie had various employers over the years.  When she retired, she invested in rental properties, giving many a place to call home.  Addie was a loving and kind-hearted person.  She had a witty and no-nonsense personality and anyone who met her did not stay a stranger for long.  She had a close bond with her "Dixon Hill" friends and her Surf City Baptist Church family.

Due to her failing health, Addie moved to Winnabow to reside with her son, Robert, who provided her the loving care she needed for the last three and a half years, until God called her home.

Addie leaves cherished memories with her son, Robert Harrelson (Shameka); grandchildren, Katelynn Harrelson-Nelson (Liam), Megan Harrelson, Andrew Johnson II, Tyriek Harrelson, Shyree Harrelson and Sa'niya Adams; great-grandchild, Elizabeth Jade Harrelson-Nelson.
