Alvin Lee Jones, 71, of Richlands (Hargetts Crossroads), died Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at his residence.
A Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Friday 8/31/12 at Jones Funeral Home, in Richlands with Rev Buster Pike officiating.
Mr. Jones was born in Jones County and was the son of the late Everett and Bertha Jones Jones. He is also preceded in death by a son, Danny Lynn Jones and two brothers, Ivey and Ralph.He served his country Honorably with the United States Navy.
He is survived by his wife, of 52 years, Julie Jones Jones of the home; two sons, Lewis Jones and his wife, Tammy of Comfort, NC, Allen Jones and his wife, Theresa of Richlands, NC; two daughters, Juanita Jones of New Bern, NC and Katie Chavers of Richlands, NC; one brother Larry Jones and his wife, Jeanette of Richlands; three sisters, Beatrice Pike of Kinston, NC, Mary Griffith of Deep Run, NC and Minnie Ruth Jones of Richlands, NC; 11 grandchildren and 15 great- grandchildren.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home and other times at the home.
