SNEADS FERRY - Betty Joyce Padgett, 68, of Sneads Ferry, died Monday, December 29, 2014 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Her husband, Milton J. Padgett died Saturday, January 3, 2015 as a result of the accident.
A joint memorial service for Milton and Betty will be 2 pm Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Providence Baptist Church, Holly Ridge, with Rev. Preston Wells officiating. Inurnment will follow in Padgett Family Cemetery.
Born in Coldwater, MI, she was a daughter of the late George Ida and Leslie Joyce Little Sholes. She worked as a LPN with the Davis Community in Porters Neck and was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Holly Ridge.
Surviving are six sons, Larry Padgett of Mt. Airy, Terry Blowers of Sneads Ferry, Kerry Padgett of Brunson, MI, Steve Padgett of Surf City, Greg Padgett, Larry W. Padgett both of Hubert; three daughters, Nancy Foster of Surf City, Karen Foy of Richlands, Suzie Long of Rocky Point; two brothers, Maurice Sholes of Columbia, SC, George Sholes of Ferguson; a sister, Ruth Ann Miller of Union City, MI; 24 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
