Charles O'
Berry Lee
June 14, 1931 – February 27, 2021
HOLLY RIDGE - Charles O'Berry Lee was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on February 27, 2021 and is strolling all over Heaven with his wife Carolee. He was 89 years old. A Graveside service is planned 3:00PM Monday at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Holly Ridge, NC.
Charles was born on June 14, 1931 in Longs, South Carolina to Isaac Miller and Golda Lee. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Carolee Parker Lee of 65 years, a brother James Lee, his sisters Ann Fowler, Allene Tyson and Bonnie Swillinger, his son-in-law Dennie Williams, his baby girl granddaughter, his great granddaughter Emiley and his great-great grandson Ayden.
His legacy is the family he leaves behind. His four children are Mickie Hausmann (John), Laney Williams, David Lee (Ginger), and Melissa Thomas (Richard). His world was his grandchildren: Kelly, Chasity, Mark, Richard, Charlie, Anthony, Austin, Olivia, Josh and Sadie; his great grandchildren: Chelsea, Joey, David, Shelby, Gracey, Bryley, Hanna, Meridyth, Lexi, Garrett and Skarlett; and his great-great grandchildren: Adalyn, Emma, Saylor, Charlotte, Christian, Cade and Crue. He also leaves behind his sister Betty Bentley, his beloved Parker in-laws and many nieces and nephews.
Charles served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He was best known for his ingenuity, his ability to grow a tomato, and his love for the Lord and his family. He was a man of great and unwavering faith and led by example for his children and grandchildren. Charles was fondly known as "Charlie" to those who knew him best from his many years of working in Topsail Beach as a builder that began in 1969. He loved to go fishing and shared such wonderful memories of his time on the Northeast Cape Fear River. He was a lifelong member of Providence Baptist Church in Holly Ridge and would share the word of the Lord to anyone who would take time to listen. We are all fortunate and better people to have received his words of wisdom. He will be dearly missed.
