Christian "Chris" Berg, 64, of Trenton passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 surrounded by his family.

Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Celia Caroline Berg, and father, Elvin Christian Berg.

Chris is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Carla Brown Berg; two sons, Benjamin Berg (Erin) and Matthew Berg (Breana); three grandchildren, John Haywood Berg, Christian Gray Berg, and Caroline Marie Berg, and brothers Anthony "Ned" Berg, and Richard Berg-Andersson.

Chris began his adult life working as an electrician.  Working in industry, he maintained his electrical license throughout his life.  He returned to college, attending East Carolina University where he graduated magna cum laude and was a Phi Kappa Phi and Golden Key International Honor member.  His second career was in education where he taught drafting and engineering at South Lenoir High School.

A longtime member of Tuckahoe Christian Church, Chris served as an Elder, Sunday School Superintendent, and served on many local and regional boards.

Chris served Comfort Volunteer Fire Department for over 30 years holding numerous positions including Deputy Fire Chief and Emergency Medical Technician.

After retirement, Chris and Carla spent time at their vacation home in Blounts Creek, NC where he was active in Warren Chapel Methodist Church.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Jones Funeral Home in Richlands.  In accordance with Chris' request, there will be no memorial service.
