RICHLANDS - George Allen Jenkins, 77, of Richlands, died Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Carolina East Quinn Hospice Center in Kenansville. Memorial services will be held AT 7:00 PM on Friday at Calvary Freewill Baptist Church, 1022 Haws Run Road, Maple Hill with Rev. Henry Potter and Rev. Richard Barnes officiating.
Mr. Jenkins was born in Richlands January 15, 1936 to the late Alvin Clyde Jenkins and Sallie Cotton Jenkins and loved and served the congregation of Calvary Freewill Baptist Church, Jacksonville and Providence Freewill Baptist Church, Hampton, VA, as their deacon.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bobbie Brown Jenkins of the home; two daughters, Katrina Greer of Johnson City, TN and Wanda Proctor of Hampton, VA; son, George M. Jenkins of Dumfries, VA; brother, Alvin Jenkins of Richlands; sister, Linda Blizzard of Richlands; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday prior to the service from 6:00 PM to 6:45 PM at Calvary Freewill Baptist Church, Jacksonville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carolina East-Quinn Hospice Center, PO Box 887, 748 South Kenansville By-Pass, Kenansville, NC 28349.
