Jacksonville, NC - Ione Gaddy Jackson, 90, died Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Onslow Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, 2:00pm at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville. Burial will follow at Onslow Memorial Park.
Mrs. Jackson was the first Teacher's Aide in Jacksonville. She was a member of First Christian Church and the Onslow County Extension Homemakers, where she was a past president.
Her husband, Rip Jackson precedes her in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Shirley Luckadoo of Charlotte, Sharon Andrews of Raleigh, Sandra Johnson of Palmetto, GA; son, Shannon Jackson of Jacksonville; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Earl Gaddy of Bossier City, LA, John Gaddy of Nashville, TN and Herbert Gaddy of Clearwater, FL; two sisters, Loyce Marshall of Memphis, TN and Joyce Carpenter of Tulsa, OK
The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until the time of the service on Saturday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the U.S.O., 9 Tallman Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540 or to the First Christian Church, 900 Gum Branch Road, Jacksonville, NC 28540.
