NEWPORT - James Junior "Pete" Cook, 52, of Newport, died Friday, February 16, 2018 at Renown Medical Center in Reno, NV. He was born May 9, 1965 in Rowan County, NC.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the Hadnot Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Chris Riggs officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
James loved to fish, cook, play black jack, and spend time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Gena "Buster" Wells Cook of the home; daughters, Emily "Lucy" Kloeker (Mark) of Hubert and Elizabeth "Mullet" Hutchison (Harry) of Hubert; grandchildren, Elijah "Bubba" Hastings, Niles "Little Hammer" and Carson "Tootlet" Kloeker; mother and step father, Linda "Sarge" and Charlie Hedrick of Salisbury, NC; sister, Tammy "Tam Too" Parrish (Daryl) of Salisbury, NC; aunt Vickey Hipp (Donald) of Rockwell, NC; nephew, James "Buddy" Cook (Jailyn)and niece, Nina Cook of Salisbury.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Cook and brother, Gary Cook.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
