Jacksonville, NC -- William Johnson Sewell, 83, passed away Friday, October 26, 2018 at his home.  Graveside services will be held on Monday, 2:00pm at Onslow Memorial Park with the Elder Stacy Pierce officiating.

He leaves behind his wife, Doris Hardison Sewell of the home; three sons, Jeffrey Sewell and wife, Debbie, Timothy Sewell and wife, Banita and Rodney Sewell and wife, Ginger; two sisters, Esther Hartsfield and Diane Snodgrass; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Johnson was preceded in death by his parents, Thurman E. and Minnie P. Sewell.

A Charter member of the Verona Fire Department, he served many years as their Chief.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the Community Home Care and Hospice.
