Major Larry J. Miner, USMC Ret., 80, died August 3, 2014 at his home after an exhaustive fight with serious health issues.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday at Jones Funeral Home with a private burial at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
Larry was born in Orleans, VT and was the son of the late Walter W. and Mary J. Pulkkinen Miner. Larry had a distinguished 25 year career as a United States Marine Corps Judge Advocate General followed by a successful 20 year law practice in Jacksonville, North Carolina. He was a faithful member of the Jacksonville Rotary and volunteered to numerous organizations to include Senior Services.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Wilson Miner of the home; two daughters, Katherine Lynch of Great Falls, MT and Lorraine Lamsa Newton of Clearwater, FL; son, Lawrence Wilson Miner of Jacksonville, NC and four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
