BURGAW - Lee Ashley James, 51, and born March 29, 1963, of Burgaw, NC died surrounded by his family Feb 9th, 2015 at New Hanover Medical Center in Wilmington, NC following his fight with a lengthy illness. Memorial services, with military honors, will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 13, 2015 at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Jacksonville NC.

Lee was born and raised in Folkston, GA and graduated with the 1981 class of CCHS.
Lee retired after serving his county of 26 years. His military career included Army National Guard Reserve, active duty Navy as corpsman and finished with the naval reserves.

He was preceded in death by his father Bobby L. James.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth C James, Mother and Second father, Lucy L and Sam H Overby of Chester GA; step-daughter, Theresa C Taylor of Havlock, NC; step-son, Thomas Clune of Morehead City, NC; sisters, Phyllis J Renshaw (Craig) of Folkston, GA and Amy D Aldridge (Joel) of Pennington Gap, VA; also numerous Aunts, Uncles, nieces and nephews.

Memorial services, with military honors, will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 13, 2015 at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Jacksonville NC.
