MAPLE HILL - Letha Alice Pierce, 93, of Maple Hill died Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Onslow Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel with Elders Aubrey Pierce and Stacy Pierce officiating. Burial will follow at the Pierce Family Cemetery off Hwy 50, Maple Hill.
Letha was the wife of the late Elder Ervin Pierce. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron Thomas Davis and Addie Rochelle Davis; one daughter, Angela Padgett; three brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include five daughters, Barbara Parquay and her husband, Dave of Canton, OH, Doris Crumpler and her husband, Johnny of Jacksonville, Linda Embrey and her husband, Greg of Jacksonville, Joanne Speth of Jacksonville and Lisa Wollman of Collegeville, PA; two sons, Alton Pierce and his wife, Patricia of Jacksonville and Dennis Pierce and his wife, Edith of Wilmington; nineteen grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Letha was an excellent mother, a loving, caring and compassionate person who was dearly loved by family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Moores Creek Baptist Church, 118 Padgett Road, Maple Hill, NC 28454.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 - 8 PM at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel.
