Jacksonville, NC – Maidie Elizabeth Lewis Wiggins, 94, died Friday, March 3rd in Smithfield, NC. Funeral services will be held at the Good News Ministries on Doris Ave on Wednesday at 2:00pm with Pastor Al Marks and Pastor Phillip Bland officiating. Burial will follow at Onslow Memorial Park.
She was a native of Verona, a daughter of the late Vannie and Beulah Allen Lewis. Mrs. Wiggins was the last surviving charter member of Good News Ministries, formerly First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
She is also preceded in death by her husband, Pete Wiggins and siblings, Leo Lewis, V.T. Lewis, James Lewis, Vera Roycraft, Jean Faye McCumbee, Rose Lee Emerson and Hazel Hillyer.
Survivors include two daughters, Helen Faye Plowden and her husband, Lee of Jacksonville and Diane Hollamon and her husband, Carrol of Smithfield; son, Craig Wiggins and his wife, June of Wilmington; three brothers, Wayne Lewis of Leland, Alan Lewis of Jacksonville and Hugh Lewis of Richlands; sister, Shirley Lanier of Jacksonville; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
