JACKSONVILLE - Preston Ray Jacobs, 71, of Hubert, North Carolina went to be with the lord on January 30, 2023 at his residence with his family by his side. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville, NC at 2:00 PM with Rev. Pete Lowery officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Onslow Memorial Park.

Ray was born on May 8, 1951 in Jacksonville, North Carolina to the late Alex Jacobs and Mary Westbrook Jacobs. Ray loved his family more than anything. He enjoyed fishing, playing pool, drag strip racing, and working where he operated a back hoe excavator for forty plus years.

He is survived by his sons, Raymond Jacobs of Jacksonville, NC, Anthony Jacobs and wife Amy of Richlands, NC, Jason Jacobs and wife Amanda of Jacksonville, NC; sisters, Ann Gardner (Otis), Laura Smith, Gloria Plant (Tad), Connie Collins (Ralph), and a brother Richard Jacobs (Barbara). Grandchildren Brendan, Tyler, Jordyn, Hayleigh, Kymberlyn, Kinslee, Max, Tucker, Rae-onna, and several nieces and nephews.
