Ronald Paul
Biedenbach
February 25, 1943 – September 21, 2021
Ronald Paul Biedenbach, 78, of Jacksonville, NC died on Tuesday, September 21, 2021.
Ronald was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Donald and Margaret Biedenbach on February 25, 1943. He joined the military in January 1963 and spent his life devoted to a career in the Navy as a Corpsman; including serving in Vietnam. He retired from the military in 1983 and then spent his Civil Service career working with both of his loves, medicine and sports at the Naval Hospital and the New River Air Station. He enjoyed refereeing for softball and basketball throughout his military career and retirement.
He was lovingly known as 'Mr. B.' by many and never met a stranger. He always had a story to share. During retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family in Iowa and visiting Italy, traveling with friends and helping his kids and grandkids with whatever they needed. His sense of humor and smile lit up a room when he was with his family, neighbors, who he considered family, and friends. He loved making malts and making his favorite peanut clusters to hand out to friends. He enjoyed reminiscing about his military adventures. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and Nonno. He will forever be missed.
Ronald is survived by his wife of 50 years, Maria "Marisa" Morrone Biedenbach; daughter, Elizabeth Wood (Robert) of Raleigh, NC; son, Paul Biedenbach (Mary Beth) of Swansboro, NC; five grandchildren: Ryan, Gabriella, Matthew, Tyler and Sofia; and brothers, John Biedenbach (Linda) and Donald Biedenbach (Pat) of Marion, IA and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends all throughout the US & Italy.
We will forever be thankful for the love and care Ronald received from all his health care providers, in particular Dr. Osunkoya and staff. We could not have asked for better care for him throughout the last few years.
Ronald's memorial mass will be 11:00 AM Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Infant of Prague Cathloic Church and interment with military honors will follow at the Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, NC. The family will receive visitors from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM immediately before the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, Ronald's family asks that memorial donations be made in his honor to places that were near and dear to him.
