RICHLANDS  - Shirley Johnson Cox 78, was born on September 26, 1946 in Southport, NC and died on November 23, 2023 in Jacksonville of Onslow County.

A funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Richlands with Buddy Hobbs officiating. Burial will follow at the Humphrey Williams Cemetery, Kinston Hwy 258. Burial will be PRIVATE .

Shirley will be long remembered a loving and compassionate wife, mother and grandmother……

Shirley was preceded in death by one son Jeffery Cox; two brothers, Edward Johnson and William Johnson; one sister, Betty Mae Rodgers; and her parents, Oscar Johnson and Linnie Mae McDowell Johnson.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Robert Fulton Cox; one daughter, Pamela (Pam) Cox (Chipper) of Richlands; and three grandchildren, Travis Peralta, Samantha Peralta and Emily Peralta all of Richlands.

A visitation is scheduled from 1:00-2:00 PM at Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Richlands on Tuesday, November 28, 2023.
