JACKSONVILLE  -  Reverend Theodore William Miller, better known as Pastor Ted, was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama November 24, 1951. He died Friday, April 12, 2024 at his home.  Memorial services will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, April 17,  2024 at Pine Valley United Methodist Church in Jacksonville with Dr. Layne Harpine officiating.

His family home was located directly across the street from University of Alabama.  After graduating high school, he attended the University of Alabama where he played in the band, and earned a degree in Music and Education, and taught band at a local high school.  After teaching a few years, he made a lateral move into sales; selling pianos and organs.  He did so well in Tuscaloosa, that the company promoted him and moved him to a store in Atlanta, GA.

Around 1985, Ted felt a strong calling to the ministry.  He attended Candler School of Theology at Emory University.  After graduating and being ordained as an Elder, he was first assigned to three churches in Washington, GA.  Later he served churches in Grovetown, Warrenton, and Cumming, Georgia.

Ted and Patricia Miller moved to Jacksonville, NC three years ago, to retire and live closer to family.  Plus, on occasions he would fill in as Pastor at Pine Valley United Methodist Church, Jacksonville, NC.

Pastor Ted leaves behind one surviving son, Chris Miller, who resides in Tennessee.
